I chose to use this ad because, it was one that actually made me feel something. A lot of the other ads I watched, didn’t really make me feel anything. This one made me cry because it made me so happy

Fairy Soap Ad 1875
1. "Oh look at those children" or "I wonder what that means" 2. Targeted towards mothers 3. There's something wrong because a whit child is trying to wash a black child. along with the quote it makes it even more messed up. 4. There is something wrong with this ad because it's racist.
van heusen tie ad 1951
1. Really sexist 2. Targeted towards middle aged men 3. A woman on her knees serving a man is really sexist. 4. Ad should not have been published
Sony ad 1979
1. "Cool pants" (said sarcastically) 2. Targeted towards people who listen to music, and young people. 3. Definitely objectifies the person in it. 4. Thinks the ad is cool but, a alight change could happen to make it less objectifying, like maybe putting the pants on a mannequin.
Arby’s burger ad 2009
1. "I can't believe this was published" 2. Targeted towards middle aged men mostly 3. Sexual innuendos, objectification of breasts by turning them into burgers 4. Ad shouldn't have been published
Dove shampoo advertisement 2017
1. Didn't understand it at first. 2. targeted towards middle aged women 3. something wrong cause it's implying that a person is cleaner if they are white which is really racist 4. does no think ad should have been published
Ed Gillespie was running for governor. The campaign was linked to him saying that violent crimes were linked to gangs. This ad gave a generalization about people of color in the Roanoke, Virginia area. He talked about the increase of MS-13 (a street gang) in virginia, which was false, the gang was nit growing. started in 2017 and still a current campaign.
1. Doesn't really understand it, but looks like it's saying people of color, kill, rape, and control 2. targeted towards upper class white people 3. a lot of things wrong with this ad. It doesn't really say anything, it's just putting words over people and making them look scary. Makes people scared of people of color and makes it look true cause it was on The Washington Post 4.ad should not have been published.
